360 & PS3… arguing over graphics?

I can’t stand when people say "well PS3 has better graphics than 360". Ok? Heres my question to the people who use that as a defense for the PS3:

You have two games, one with 1080p graphics but with ET like gameplay (ET was a game released in 1983 and is considered the worst game in history. Another game has 480i graphics but with the gameplay CoD4, BioShock, Halo 3, Gears of War 2, GTA 4 combined.

So I ask you, if PS3 owners (that use the graphics defense) like graphics so much, which one would you chose?

@Tito 360: and you and people like you are exactly why I made this question. MW2 will be better on 360 because of Live. Just because the PS3 version has slightly better graphics doesn’t mean it will be better for PS3. And scratched disks? WTF? Who brought that up?

I have to agree game play idefinitelyly a higher priority then graphics but its also a balance of the two.

Currently i’m not convinced that bluray hatrulyly won the format war. Yes HDDVD is gone but the fact is people are still using and buying dvds and the recession isn’t helping to change that. So there is still time for another format to appear and rival blueray.

And to Ed who was saying that the PS3 is better to developers cause of it’s largeresourceses. You forget that their sales are killing developers to the point where activision is threatening to drop the PS3 due to the lack of sales tied to thier high price

LOL yea no kidding…

First off there isnt that much of a gap between the 2 anymore and its more like slightly better Graphics or way better Online. 360 is better online and everyone knows it.

Also the "console war" should be about the type of tv it is. Every tv is different and graphics dont make games. I would rather have a final fantasy like story rather than "the feeling of really being in there" cause its most likely a shitty place to be when you think about it.

As a Xbox 360 Elite & PS3 owner, I made a pre-order of Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Collection on the "Playstation 3" version. BECAUSE it has better graphics then the Xbox 360 & since the PS3 game disk is a Blu-ray disk, is a scratch resistance. Sorry buddy truth hurts.

I definitely agree. Gameplay trumphs graphics. But i think that the game should have decent graphics too. I think it needs the best of both worlds. (amazing graphics and amazing gameplay)

your question doesnt even make sense… you are asking about graphics but you want to compare it with gameplay… yes ps3 has better graphic because developers can take advantage of the massive amount of space that the bluray has and are able to make files much bigger and not worry about 4.7 gb of storeage like a regular dvd has, the only other way that 360 can do that if they make the game with several cd but that would also mean that the price to make the game would be higher making the cost of the game to you much higher too… but if you are looking at gameplay than of course you are going to go with the better game play.
