Am I really getting a new Xbox?
I was starting it up and playing GTA4, and in about 5 minutes, my screen froze and had these vertical lines, and I couldn't do anything. I restarted it over and over, and even tried two different TVs. It was definitely my Xbox.
The next day, I called Xbox Repair Support and I told the guy my problem, and he told me to try turning it on without my Hard Drive, same problem. Then he told me to put it back on, but to try to access my system menu and clear the cache. I tried turning it on, but it gave me the RRoD, and I tried again, but it was definite. So I told him, and he said he'd be shipping me a box.
So I got the box on Tuesday, the 13th, and I'm shipping it on Saturday. Am I getting a new Xbox as I've heard?
I live in Woodside, NY, and it's going to Mesquite, TX, by UPS (I don't know what service, I think ground, though).
So when should I be getting it back?
ALSO (lol this is my last question), does my warranty go any lower? I've heard that somewhere.
You will probably get it back in a week or two. Microsoft has been really good about fixing it and getting it shipped back out to you. I got mine repaired and shipped back in the same week so yeah they are doing pretty good. Now as far as getting a new xbox 360 that will be up to Microsoft to decide once the repair center looks at it. If the cost to repair is more then its worth they will ship you out a new one. I hope this helps! =)

It's the companies choice to repair or replace your damaged machine. Most often, you won't get a brand new machine to replace your old one - you'll get a refurbished machine instead.
They will either fix the console or replace it with a refurbished one. Microsoft never sends you a brand new console.
Dark Knight, my video output went bad and they shipped me an entirely new xbox.
