Can you ignore missions in Grand Theft Auto (GTA)?
I won GTA:San Andreas for $3 on eBay, so I got it, although I don't like to do the missions. All that I like to do in that game is steal cars & shoot people. Can i just ignore all of those missions & do what ever I want in the game?
I also don't want to play the missions because it turned out its the Hot Coffee version, and I don't want that.
BTW It's the PS2 version, I'm gonna play it on my 60GB PS3.
Well yeah, the whole reason I don't like the game that much is because I don't like the whole girlfriend & crap on the game.

yes you can although at the start you cannot access the bigger map area because you get a 6 star wanted level.
so i suggest lookingup the cheat that freezes your wanted level before doing so.
you will be missing out though, the first couple of missions arent great but when it really gets into the story it has some awesome missions,(like one where you drive a motorbik down a runway onto a taking off airoplane, then kill everyone on board and parachiute off) you never ever have to have sex in the game if you choose not too so the fact the game has the hot coffee mod installed will not affect you if you play through the story.
there is only one madnatory girfriend and you can ignore her, dump her or kill her.

Yes and no, if you want to unlock certain areas you have to do the missions. But you don't have to do them either and you can run around in the same areas for hours beating hookers and stuff. Oh and you can use the cheat codes to get infinite weapons and ammo and such.
i used to that, but eventually you get bored. once you complete your first mission, you'll want to complete the others. it gets addictive.
by the way, great buy from ebay, wow you're a good shopper.

It is not something you can stumble upon accidentally. You have to hack the game to see it.
the missions tend to be about stealing cars and shooting ppl. i suggest u just ignore the girlfriend and work through the other stuff. in the meantime if u dont mind getting swat teams called on u everytime u accidentally touch the wrong beach u can totally explore the whole state for as long as u survive. but as u go through the missions the ban on other areas gets lifted one by one and u can buy additional safe houses in each area making it more fun to explore and of course steal different cars and shoot different ppl.
