I bought a PS3 on the same day GTA IV was released ?
but once i completed it, i realised i had no other games for it
and i didnt want to go back to playing my PS2
so i went out and bought a selection of new games for the PS3
fifa 08
resistance - fall of man
assasins creed
kane and lynch - dead men
motostorm
haze
now i have a problem
i think fifa 08 is crap and not half as good as the PS2 version
fall of man is crap
assasins creed and kane and lynch are good games but i am at a point where i cannot go anyfurther on them because i am stuck
haze is abismal
and motostorm i can safely say is the worst game i have ever played
now i really wanted to get metal gear solid 4 and bourne conspiracy but i have lost real faith in the PS3 and i think i have made the wrong choice and maybe i should have got a x box instead ?
have i made the wrong choice or is it i have just bought the wrong games ?
can you reconmend any good games that would make me love the PS3 again, like GTA IV did ?
I think it greatly helps if you would provide a more in-depth description of your preferred games or genre. Nonetheless, I think you just picked up some ugly games that got a handful of attention, but didn't necessarily come out all that great on any console.
If you like FPS titles, I'm *really* quite surprised you haven't picked up Call of Duty 4 yet. I hear good things about the recent Battlefield: Bad Company as well. If you like racing, the upcoming Gran Turismo has always been a top contender. If you want a more "fun" and "surreal" approach go with Burnout Paradise, GRID, or in the extremes get the upcoming Wipeout HD.
But as for your current list? I can see why you currently resent the PS3. No offense, but those aren't exactly the shining gems of the PS3. Look up a few review scores on sites like www.gamerankings.com if you have to make your purchases count.
I think Metal Gear Solid 4's one of those few games that can truly help you decide if you should stick with your PS3 (even though I don't have it myself, as I never got into the series). Note that such a game requires a lot of patience, however.
But you're debating if you should've gotten a 360 instead? Give me a straight answer: what games could've made the 360 a more favorable choice that isn't already available on the PS3? It's an earnest, unbiased question. This list may help you:

You can also acknowledge that most great 360 titles eventually get ported to the PC or PS3, if they didn't start with them already. You can refer to the VGChartz list provided earlier: the only top-20 titles sold not to receive a PS3 or PC port are Gears of War, Halo 3, Saints Row, and Forza Motorsport (even though it has a notable Gran Turismo rival in the PS3). If you're a straight-forward FPS buff that can't quench your thirst on Call of Duty 4 alone, then maybe you should pick up the 360. And that's all I'll say.
Well that and: Warhawk was the one game that made me want to get an HD gaming console. You should look into it as well.

If you think K&L is better than Resistance then you havea very odd taste in games but okay.
Get CoD 4 and MGS4 immediately, You should also get Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank at some point.
Dont get the Bourne Conspiracy.
Also get Resistance 2 [even if you didnt like the first one they have a lot of improvements with this one], LittleBigPlanet, Mercenaries 2, Prince Of Persia before the end of the year.
I recommend Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Ratchet and Clank Future.
just get reviews before you buy the game and stick to series or publishers you enjoy. need for speed is always a good choice. unreal tournament lll

trade in your so called crap games at gamestop that's worth 50$-60$
Try to get some walkthroughs on Assassins Creed and Kane and Lynch

IMO, the best game to showcase the PS3 in all it's glory, would be MGS4. Not only is it the best looking game currently around, it has one of the better story lines as well. it is action packed, and will totally keep you gripped. COD4 is the best online game around. Those 2 should restore your faith.

You must live in some other planet if you have not heard that mgs 4 is great!!!! I heard it was even better than gta 4. BTW - I love fifa 08 for ps2
… keep playing on ps2 trying to finish everything.. challenges and stuff. It never goes out of style , you just get better. I would rather find out that something sucks by spending less money that's why I dont have a ps3. Im still waiting for it to go down.
