My PS3 keeps freezing????? 10 points plus 10 thumbs up for BA..?
2. I went to the games menu, but gta 4 wasnt even displayed.
3.I cleaned my cd after #2 because I was getting desperate. I and started the game but the load never ended.
4. I decided to update my game to like ver1.1.
5. After the update was finished the game worked fine for around 5 minutes. I was getting excited.. Then step #1 happened.
6. I opened the ps3 4 hrs later to pay virtual tennis and the game wouldnt even start.. Instead it said "error 80010514 unable to start game (something like that)
7. Now im getting fucking desperate and FUCKING PISSEd because I spent so much time trying to fix my 600 dollar ps3. I decide to start looking at forums regarding the above error.
8. There was some advice to just reformat the entire harddrive in the forums so i did that
9. After a 3 hr wait, i boot up virtual tennis. Things are going good for 15 min. Then it freezes
Im running out of options because I dont have the warranty. ( 1 yr expired)

Maybe your PS3's is overheating. Did you ever notice a trend on the PlayStation section? Now that it's summer, many more people are having trouble with their game consoles. My PS3 froze a lot too back then, but then i took the initiative to change a couple things.
First off, its summer—It may be really hot in some regions and that is bad for your PS3 and all game consoles in general. Follow the steps to see if this works:
- Play your PS3 on a hard surface, NOT on carpet (this will make it much much harder for the PS3 to get sufficient air)
- Keep the room that your PS3 is in cool and ventilated
- Keep your PS3 in an open space, make sure it is not in a tiny tiny squeezed up spot
- Make sure your PS3 is not next to any other heat-generating devices
In general, just make sure your PS3 is in a nice safe cool spot. Naturally when certain game consoles get hot, they tend to freeze. Back then i used to play cod4 on my carpet and my PS3 would freeze all the time, but when i switch it to a nice cool spot, my PS3 never froze again.
If you are absolutely sure your PS3 is not over-heating, call Sony tech support.

First of all call sony GTA4 for some reason is corrupting the ps3 60gig (GTA4 corrupts more then it's players
. Tell them what happened with GTA4 even if it is out of warranty , because GTA4 is the cause they will likely fix it for free. Back up your games saves etc. and back up your harddrive. THey will send you a box within 2 days. THen you send the ps3 only in. It's over night shipping then within 4 days you'll have it back.
