My Xbox 360 is kaput. What do I do?
I hate $ony, I dislike the PS3 pad, there are games coming for 360 that I want. But I'm fed up of it breaking down. I want a console that works, and so far I haven't heard of PS3s breaking. And Blu-Ray seems to be taking off better than HD DVD.
The other problem is that I've paid for lots of downloadable content, and GTA4 on the 360 will have exclusive episodic content.
I don't know what to do. What do you all think?
And I already have a Wii.
Nathan: good suggestion, have done so before with CDs and the like, but don't have a spare £280 laying around. Thanks for the input though.
I have now replaced the console after a lengthy discussion with the shop where it was purchased. But now I have a new problem: I kept the old HDD, which is fine, but my GF can't play XBLA games purchased on my profile, whereas previously she could. Any ideas how to bypass this problem? Microsoft seem clueless.
Another 360, because even if that dies and you have to buy another, it will still be less than the PS3!!

If you're gonna get a new system, I suggest getting the Nintendo Wii.
buy a new xbox 360, and get the extended warranty this time. that way you won't have to worry about it again.
Get another Xbox 360, if you are still under warranty, more thank likely, Microsoft will send you another (refurbished) Xbox 360.
PS3 is too expensive, and many former PS3 excusive games are coming out for Xbox 360, like Devil May Cry 4 and Mercinaries 2. And the new Katamari game (a former PS2-exclusive) may become an Xbox 360 exclusive. GTA IV is now given fair treatment on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (no more releasing the PS3 version 6 months earlier). Things are going up for the Xbox 360, and things are going down for the PS3 (except the price).
Give Xbox 360 another chance. I did.
buy a 360 ELITE it has a bigger hard drive than the ps3 will ever have and doesnt appear to have the same probs with the orig. 360.
if you want to buy a ps3 wait till sony releases the newer v ersiond with out the emo. engine, wich will lower the cost of the ps3 by $100 the 20 gig ps3 has become obselete.
sony plans on releasing on the new updated ps3 a driver that read ps3 and ps2 titles. since the ps2 titles will be running on the same drive the game reselutions and graphics will be more refined. if you buy another 360 you can re-install all your downloads to your new console without having to pay for them again.
its true. blueray is winning over hd-dvd. all the new vids are coming out on it. but not on hd-dvd. depends which company you like most. ( microsoft upped itswarranty)
the warrenty extends now well over a year and you dont need to pay for shipping. its all free. plus now you get your own console back not some refurb and if they cant fix it you get sent a new one.
Yea your graphics have gone same happened to mine you have to notify microsoft and not where you bought it if you still have the reciept then microsoft will replace it with a new one..

Just go to Wal-Mart buy a new Xbox and then take it back but put your broken one in the box that you return…. that is if you don't mind losing a little integrity.
