PS3 40gb and 80gb Difference? And Sale for MGS4?
I need to know a few things.
What are the difference's between the 40 gb and 80gb PS3's? other than the 40 gigabyte difference. I heard only one of them plays PS2 games? If so which one? And they play all of them right? And is there a way to make the other PS3 play all the Ps2 games too?
And as for MGS4 when it releases will there be any sales like with the release of GTA IV where you buy a PS3 and MGS4 and get a 50$ gift card?
Thanks all
Oh yeah I'm just wondering… How much gb is packed into MGS4? I heard the game is like 50gb? Thats a lot of work they put into it.
Hmmm….. How can I tell which PS2 Games work on the PS3? Since only 85% work.
The differences are;
The 80GB has 4 USB ports
The 40GB has 2 USB ports
The 80GB has multimedia card readers
The 40GB does not.
The 80GB has the PS2's Graphics Synthesizer which enables backwards compatibility (about 85%).
The 40GB has, and it is NOT upgradeable, no PS2 compatibility at all.
The PS3 bundle is priced at $499. You get MGS4, a dualshock 3 controller and the 80GB PS3.
The game uses a dual layer (50GB) blu-ray disk and, yes, there is a lot of work gone into it.

Comments on PS3 40gb and 80gb Difference? And Sale for MGS4?
the 40gb cant play ps2 games, 80gb can
there is no way to play ps3 games on ps2
40gb can't play ps2 and ps1 games has only two port in front
has no memory slot the gb is small and it cheaper
the 80gb can play all kinds of ps games has four port in front
no there is no other way
i think you will get a discount but that what i think i really don't know
when they say resistance has 22gb storage it not really and for metal gear solid it won't be also
the 80gb has more usb slots and it can play ps2 games
The 80gb has in addition to the 40gb:
2 extra USB slots
MemoryStick/SD/CompactFlash reader
PS2 _SOFTWARE_ emulation
Note that only approx 80% of PS2 games work on the PS3 at the moment, this may be updated with more firmware patches later. The 60gb has hardware emulation, which means all PS2 games should work fine on it, though they no longer sell new 60gb models.
There should be a MGS4 and 80gb PS3 bundle for $499, which is a pretty decent deal. Also there is a "special edition" gunmetal coloured 40gb PS3 for $599, which is a waste a money in my opinion, but if you're a huge fan, maybe it's worth it.
the 40gb cant play ps2 games doesnt have flash card readers and only has 2 usb ports the 80gb has 4 usb ports and can play ps2 games and has flash card readers. yes msg4 is 50gb but it wont take 50gbs of ur memory
40gb- no support on ps2 games, no super audio cd support, no flash card drive, and two usb ports.
80gb- have 80% support on ps2 games, have super audio cd support, have flash card drive, and four usb ports. no, you cannot play all ps2 games in that model like the 20gb and 60gb, because they have using software emulation, where most games works but some games might some problems.
no.
