Ps3 internet set-up Questions.?
1. I have NO Router, just a modem. (The modem is wired). So, do i actually need a Router to make this whole process easier?
2. I would prefer to have a Wireless router, because i do not want a 100 ft ethernet cord running through the house.
3. What is the difference between a router and a modem?
4. I was thinking on getting a Linksys WRT54G, Is this a good model?
5. I have some 'Good' Multiplayer games, such as Battlefield: Bad Company, GTA IV, Call of Duty 4. Any more suggestions? I was thinking of Metal Gear Online.

I have the same problem.
1. Yes you will also need a router, if your modem is'nt also a router.
2. That ethernet cord is a great suggestion. The length and all.
My computer is in my room and the PS3 is in the living room.
My home is one floor.So there's not much I can help with that.
3. The difference is that the router you can have more than one internet source connected to more computers. I honestly do not know the main purpose of a modem. But you WILL need it.
4. And the man who hooked my internet up told me that a Linksys brand will work better. And it's a certain type.
It's going to have two antennas in the back,
EXTRAS: After you learn how to hook it all up you have to setup the PS3 and the router on your computer.
That's all I know.
I plan to get a router again.
And it's a little too complicated for me so I suggest getting a professional [Geeksuad; FireDog<---Is that right?] to come out and hook it up for you.
