PS3 trouble?
P.S. I don't care if you feel the PS3 is stupid or sucks, I don't care if you hate GTA 4. I only want an answer for this problem I am having and only people who have ever had this or knows how to fix it.
I appreciate the correction in my typing but you read wrong. I said a half a year. That is 1/2 a year, 6 months equal this. To be technical, I got if for Christmas about 8 months ago.
I bought my 80gb unit last september and I started to hear the fan run more than normal about a month ago. I did not have the same problem with the disk ejecting but I started getting problems with them loading. At this time it will not even load a game. I am told this is due to overheating the system. I dont keep mine in a closed area so this should not have been a problem. Your system may have overheated also. Sony is taking their sweet time sending me a box to ship it back to them in, it has been 11 days and I had to call twice. Good luck.

lol its ALIVE XD no but seriously sounds like a problem, you should definitely update it but I dont think that would be the problem, you should send it back to sony asap.
try doing a ps3 restore, BUT BACKUP YOUR DATA to an external drive
its under system settings in the settings icon
try doing a full format.. it takes 3 hours but it completly wipes it out
that sounds more like a hardware problem than an update issue not updating it shouldnt have anything to do with the fan acting like that somthing may be burning out on it I would actually call Sony to find out what to do
You have not had an 80GB PS3 for a year and a half.
You edited your post to half a year, but that's okay. The fan does have two speeds, so that change alone isn't a big deal, but the disc ejecting is odd. You should always keep your firware up to date, that's how they fix known problems. Get it updated, make sure the PS3 is in a well ventilated area, and try it again. See if it happens with another game. If the problem persists call customer service:
