router problem, also a little firewall problem?

i have a massive problem with my router and quite frankly i think its kind of a shitty router but i have to deal with it coz…well i cant really be bothered getting another one…
ok here are the details for it:
ST LAB
5 Port 10/100Mbps N-way Switch
AUTO MDI/MDIX
LINK/ACT

yeah…if anyone could help…or better yet have the same router and work it fine it would be greatly appreciated…oh man i just realyinsed i haven’t got to the point of my question, well you see:
1. (this could be vista and i really think it is but anyways) i used to be able to host on warcraft III until i got vista, i used to have xp btw, is there an easy way to get on my router and oen the requred ports to allow me to host on vista?
2. on the bottom of it it says it lets through any interference yet when i try to join games in gta iv on my ps3 it says “your NAT/Router seems to be too strict please configure” or some crap and it really annoys me how i have to host every single game by using this technique, but it still irritating having to wait until someone joins coz it can take ages where as i can just join someone else’s game which is probably already full or something, sorry im getting off point, how do i open ports on my router for my ps3?
3. the vista firewall seems to be EXTREMELY strict and wont allow ANYTHING into the hard drive, take for example when i tried to play the movies online, where the movies i’ve made are supposed to come up NOTHING CAME UP, at least 20 should have come up coz i spam movies for extra money…like one scene…make 100k…anyways any way how to fix this? ty for any help posted :) i have also opened all the ports and even turned off my firewall completely AND plugged my modem straight into my computer and turned off my firewall but to no avail :(

Simply try disabling your network connection firewall completely through your OS.reset your router settings to default and restart your router and system.
