Should I sell my current XBOX 360 for a PS3?
Should I sell my 360 which ive owned since christmas 2006, which should go on ebay for about $600 with accessories; and buy a PS3?
A ps3 costs about $850 from game.com.au, and it comes with a extra controller, hdmi, GTA IV and 2 yrs warranty. So I would have to pay about $200 - $250 extra.
Basically, the only game I play is FIFA and proabably a bit of GTA IV. I think that the PS3 will be better playing these games on it.
Blue-ray movies we dont really watch.
Anyway give me your thoughts.
Why are all the 360 fanboys in the PS3 section? If you want to skit the PS3 do it in your own area. I bet none of you have even played on a PS3 and definitely don't own one.
The $200 extra you would pay for the console, you would make back in 4 years easily with not having to pay for PS3 online. Which is just as good as the 360; any lag, slowdown or glitches are from the game and the internet connection to the server from either you or your opponents and are nothing to do with the console - playing online is exactly the same.
The PS3 is the better choice in the long run too, the 360 was the reason that GTA4 was delayed, because Rockstar couldn't be sure every 360 user has a HDD they had to work around that which is why textures load slower when travelling at speed etc.
With the games being on Blu-ray disk in the next 4 or 5 years the 360 is going to be struggling to keep up with the games on the PS3 look at the games made 4-5 years ago and see how much games have come on since. The 360 is still working off dual layer DVDs, all the data on them has to be severely compressed to fit onto the disk. There's only so much compression you can do.
It’s really up to you in the end. If you feel you’ll be happier with a PS3 then go for it, it won’t be a bad choice. If you feel you actually would prefer to keep your 360 then that’s not exactly a bad choice either. It’s win-win really.
Just remember all the fanboys talking about 360 exclusive games is a load of Bull, since all the games come out on PC too and since you can play games on your PC it is still a competitor for console gaming. My PC cost less than a 360 and it’s more powerful, unfortunately I already had a 360 but since then have passed it onto my brother.
It is really personal preference at the moment, but in a few years it will be common sense.

Make sure you have all the boxes and instructions and anything else that originally came with the XBox…..
THEN you can sell it for $600….
I'd expect $400 if you don't have everything ….
Hell no, the PS3 is a joke, why would you want to downgrade that much, that and GTA4 is a joke of a game, appealing to the mindless demographics who think they are "da rudeboy gangsta' aiiiiiiiiiiiiii" for playing this overhyped piece of tripe.
Why don't you keep the XBOX 360 and just buy GTAIV for it?
A lot of games coming out are for both systems. The only real reason to choose one over the other is for exclusive only games. These include:
For the 360:
Gears of War 1 and 2
Halo 3
BioShock
Forza 2
For the PS3:
Gran Turismo 5
God of War 3
Final Fantasy XIII
Metal Gear 4
But most titles come out for both systems.
if those are the only games your playing, then yo ucan prolly get them on the 360. the graphics are just as good, and you wont waste $200 on crap for the ps3. seriously, if you only plan on playing those games, i dont think you shoulda gotten a 360 at all. try cod4. or halo. and theres good racing games out there too.
so what im saying is….DONT GET THE PS3
