What is the best TV or monitor for gaming?
Ok, so I am a fanatic over GTA4 and Halo 3 on my Xbox 360. I just can't stop playing them. The problem is, I want to make them look good in my own room. I'm not allowed to play on the 52 inch LCD in our kitchen.
Anyway, I've looked over both monitors and HDTV's (I want to use an HDMI cable for my Xbox), and most seem to be out of my reach, either online or in strange places. Since my parents don't really trust the internet's reliability, and I don't have a credit card of my own, I'm gonna need a retail one.
For specs: I want something in the 19-22 inch range, not too small, not too big. It has to have HDMI input(s) and OPTIONALLY (low priority), a (Yellow-White-Red) output, so I can record stuff with my capture card. The most important things I need are:
1) It's excellent for or specializes in gaming. Speakers are not necessary, just a headphone jack. This means an awesome display (colors! Lighting! etc.!) and a fast response time.
2) Don't make it over pricey. This is a lower priority, but I don't need to spend $600 on Toshiba's latest model when I could get a higher quality TV from LG at $300.
I've considered monitors, just make sure they have an HDMI input; I really don't want to run back to Best Buy to pick up a $50 dollar cable.
Just a reminder, I am using this as 98% gaming. A few I have looked at include 22" Samsungs and a certain ViewSonic model used for gaming pros.
Thank you!
I would suggest Samsung LN22B460 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV
15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 6ms response time
The picture is great, and the sound is good
1 HDMI, one component, and one composite video input
