Which is better, an xbox 360 or a ps3? also how much will I get for a… (read discription)?

Pls I want an estimate on how much I will get(in store credit).
1)ps3 for graphics and watching dvds and blue ray
2)360 for fun and okay graphics
3)wii for fun and mario +co.

2)graphics=very good but lack colour-it still is not the same as 360 even with the tv settings up.runs good.somtimes the graphics are unbelievable!

a compelling factor for some gamers and in truth it adds life span on to games.The ps3 online is awkard and annoying at times but its free and u can surf the net

1)exclusive titles include:halo 3/blue dragon/gears of war 1/gears of war to be -realeased before christmas 2008 viva pinata and various good titles
2)Graphics=Not the best in 3rd gen but run smoother than the ps3-still worse graphics tough

Yes-but requires a hdmi cable tht cost a chunk of money.
4)online is brilliant-probably the best ever. game can last months.requires you to buy a card though -more money gone
5)the health of this console is an issue.1 in 16 broke when this console came out.its been fixed no but…wats to say there isnt a first batch console sitting on the shelf in your local store.so you bring it home and the light around the starting button goes red.you can fix this temporarily but every hour or to it will blow.the only other way to fix this is to send it to germany to have it fixed for free…but it could take 3 to 7 months.
I will make a short paragraph on the wii since u didnt ask for 1.its graphics are about the same as the ps2s and the games are a bit babyish but still fun.the controls arnt the best and it lacks hardcore games.
this is a completly un-bias article as i have all three consoles.its up to wat u like in the end-nuff said

Definately take the PS3 over the Xbox, it is much better,Xbox is overrated.
you wont get very much money, mabe like 50 dolars…. but i would go with xbox 360 because ps3 games are expensive and there arent many.if you dont sell your ps2 games then i would go with ps3 since it is backwards compatible.
they'd probably offer you twenty bucks and laugh in your face because they have tons of used ps2's that will never sell.
personally i'd go with a 360. the pro model is cheaper than a ps3, and the graphics are just as good if not better. it's only a matter of two years before they're both outdated anyways.

Get a 360. PS3's are pricy and a lot of the game developers for PS3 games focus more on things like graphics than actual gameplay or storyline. But some are good. But overall, 360's the way to go.
Gamestop will give you something, but not nearly as much as if you sell all those things separately at an online retailer like amazon or even ebay.
As for the consoles, they are really pretty even. PS3 has Blu Ray, if you're into that cutting edge HD stuff. 360 has HD DVD, which is no longer being manufactured. 360 has more quality games, though PS3 is coming on lately with exclusives like MGS4. Graphically, both systems look great, though it has been said in general for games on both consoles PS3 looks better. The 360 now infamously has a number of problems with the systems working correctly; nearly everyone who has had the system for a significant amount of time has a horror story or two. I have not heard many stories about the PS3, though be aware that there are some. If you're into the wireless internet, PS3 utilizes wifi, where as for 360 you are going to have to dig into your pockets for a wireless adapter. As for backwards compatibility, on 360 you can play many XBox games, whereas on the PS3 you can play all PSOne, and around 80% PS2. Unless, of course, you plan on getting a 40GB, where you can play all PSOne but no PS2, though it is rumored that this is going to change in the next couple months through software emulation.
If I was you, I would look up all the exclusives out now and coming out in the next year or so for both systems, then make a decision after that. Let's face it, it always comes down to the games.
You will not get very much for the ps2 with the accesories and games, I would say about $50 at the most. My friend tried to pawn his slim ps2 with about 20 games, controllers, and memory card a few months back and they offered him $20. I would try and sell them on ebay, thats what I did for him and I got $110.
I would get the ps3, for many reasons. The ps3 has has a built in blu-ray player which is the only hi-def dvd format not since HD-DVD stopped making movies. That alone makes it worth it.
The ps3 has much better capabilities then the x-box360. You can check online both of there specs since I dont know the details off the top of my head. Also playstation has the playstation network which is free multiplayer gaming. Xbox charges I think $10 a month.
I suggest you buy heavenly sword after you get GTA4 the game rocks.
I own a wii and I never use it the games are made for children under 12 and get boring really fast, and the graphics are no better then the gamecube.
altho i own a xbox360 myself i would say ps3 for many reasons
1, you do not need to pay for ps3 online it is free
2, you cannot get benned from ps3 live unlike the wrongfull respect counter you get on xbox live,
3 and a simple one ps3 can handle a lot more data on the disk so they can make better games than xbox 360 they are allready bringing out games just for the ps3 because they would have to chop the game up for xbox 360 and make it download content witch menas you will have to pay in the future
4, and the servers are the same on ps3 as xbox live they are all crap
so in summing up id buy a ps3

I have owned 2 X-Box 360s…both crapped out on me. The first one got the infamous red-ring of death (basically it burnt itself out). And the other got to where it would not play DVDs. I have owned a PS3 for awhile now and am quite happy with it.
Here is a better way to answer your question:
1. If you want more bells and whistles (which the X-Box 360 offers, without a doubt), but not a system that is built better for what it is supposed to do and may not last as long, then I would go with the X-Box 360. I would go with the higher end ones since they are supposedly built better.
2. If you want a system that will stand the test of time and could care less for a few bells and whistles, then I would go with the PS3.
The X-Box 360 offers some things that I still miss to this day: Gamer Ratings, Achievements, etc.
But the PS3 offers its own claim of fame, the Blu-Ray player. I have watched a Blu-Ray movie on my PS3 and cannot tell a BIG difference. But I have never watched it in HD either. This is where you are supposed to REALLY see the difference. So if you have an HD tv along with the proper cables to connect to, then you will supposedly see a TREMENDOUS difference. Not only in the Blu-Ray movies, but also the gaming.
So I do NOT regret my purchase of the PS3. My PS2 is still going strong after almost 10 years, and I have no doubts my PS3 will do the same thing. When it comes to console gaming, Sony makes a better product than Microsoft. But this is just MY opinion.
