why is GTA 4 only for ps3 and xbox 360?
I agree that it would be good to have GTA IV on all systems but the problem is that there is a lot of memory required on a disk to make GTA IV such an awesome game. There is no way that GTA IV could be made for a last gen system. The designers where actually having a problem fitting GTA IV on the HD DVD and the Blu Ray Disk, to put it in perspective Blu Ray is the largest formatted disk available. If GTA IV was to be produced on the PS2 disk it would have to be on multiple disks which would really take away from the overall experience. It wouldn't be as good if everytime you entered a part of the city you have to pop in a different disk. The best thing for you would prolly be to keep your eye out for a cheap PS3 because the PS2 games will not be produced for much longer.

well i have a ps2 also and i will not be gettin a new system but the reason its only for ps3 and xbox360 because they put out the highest graphics and so to answer you question….it will not come out on ps2 ever!
No. The PS2 is not technologically advanced and powerful enough to run GTA IV.
graffics are to much for a ps2, game size is too big for ps2 disk.
It would be a waste of time and resouces to make a dumbed down version for PS2, although it would be nice.
I understand where you're coming from though. luckily though I have a ps3 now so i dont have to worry about it anymore.
because they are next generation systems and thats what gamers focus on now
They simply can't. First of all it has more memory on The disks that 360 and ps3 use. Second the ps3 would not be able to handle it. If they were to put a game on ps3 for instance first then put it on 360 it would not be able to handle it. The ps3 cell processor is lightning fast and the best out there.
wii can habdle the graphics and why want to play it on the wii the ps2 cant handle the graphics eighter, it's another generation console too!
NO PLAYSTAION 2 IS SO 2000
THE FUTURE IS NOW
