xbox 360 and ps3? Gta4?
I don't believe Rockstar has officially confirmed that the 360 version will be on multiple disks, but from all speculations, it looks like it will be on multiple disks. For starters, Rockstar asked MS if it was possible to make the game on HD-DVD. Why HD-DVD? Because HD-DVD holds about 15/30 gb. DVD-9 only holds about 9 gb. Blu-ray holds 25 gb (single layer). So, you can see why Rockstar will have to go multiple disks. Second, one of the reason for the delay is that Rockstar might be trying to cram everything into one disk. Seems unlikely.
The PS3 version should look better because it has the better hardware. You can't make a realistic GTA IV on an Atari 2600.
The PS3's Blu-ray can hold up to 50 gb on a dual layer disk, so Rockstar can put more into on the disk without any sacrifice.
The PS3 has the cell processor which is supposed to be able to handle enemy behavior different based on their spatial relation to the character. Characters that are far away will be treated as a group, and characters that are up close will be treated individually, so you should see the little things that separates it from the 360 version.

It's impossible to be the same. PS3 works on BluRay technology with by sheer numbers, the detail is higher due to having 6 times more space than the DVD-based 360 games. If the 360 had games in HD-DVDs, then it would be more comparable, but they are still DVDs. It's like comparing the capacity of a VHS tape with a DVD, different formats. It's impossible for them to be the same. I have them both and the PS3 allows for more programming for the graphics. It's common sense.
I don't really know if the PS3 version will have more realism, but it will probably look better due to increased storage space (bluray disks hold 40gb +). I think that its mostly speculation at this point because no one except Rockstar really knows.
The 2 disc rumor is probably true (I give it about 90% probability, if it hasn't already been confirmed). Xbox games are written to 9gb dvds which is pretty limiting compared to bluray, and GTA will be a pretty huge game (if any of the other versions are an indicator of this games size).
One thing xbox does have over PS3, however, is downloadable content. Apparently Microsoft paid big bucks for some exclusive add on stuff. I don't really care about this, though, since it will probably just be some extra episodes. I'd rather have it on one disc, but its up to you.
The game will probably be pretty much the same on both consoles with subtle tweaks for each. I'd just ignore speculation and wait for the reviews. You won't really know what version to get until its been tried on both consoles (I'll be getting the PS3 version regardless).
umm yeah its true ps3 does have slightly better graphics(slightly) because it works on blu ray, blu ray has like alot of gig space on it xbox doesnt so theres more room for better graaphics and detail and longer gameplay on ps3(games will be longer) this is hard for xobx 360 2 do when they dont have the same space so there releasing it n 2 disks for 360 yes its true.
The difference will be in the Audio. The Blu-ray allows plenty of room for the audio to remain uncomressed. The x360 will feature audio tracks compressed to something like 128 Kbps mp3.
