xbox 360 or playstation 3? Which would you recommend?
And i know he would love to have a new games console.
I dont know which is good out of the two. Xbox or PS3?
He is a serious gamer. Loves games like call of duty etc And loves Grand theft auto. Generally fighting games.
(in life he isnt a voilent man)
He likes playing online too
Also Can GTA be played in xbox? (if i decided to buy xbox)
I have £300. Willing to stretch to £350.00 maximum

I love my PS3 but it depends on what he wants it for, If he plays alot of online games then go for it and at the end of the day, You can always change it if he doesn't want like it. Also the graphics are amazing and always gets updated never freezes on me online.

Xbox Xbox Xbox in my opinion.
PS3 is too expensive and overrated.
GTA can be played on it, and it has good online community (generally, but you do get idiots everywhere :p)
I've had mine for a good few months now, and never had any problems with it.
If he likes playing online the PS3 is the better option as its free and looking at the games coming out later in the year all us PS3 owners are in for a treat that 360 owners are not.
WELL MY HUBBY HAD AN PLAYSTATION3 AND HE LOVED IT BUT HE GOT RID OF IT NOW HE HAS A 360 AND HE LOVES IT MORE SO IF I WOULD GIVE YOU ADVICE A 360 WOULD BE THE BEST BET BUT THE GAMES ARE EXPENSIVE SO GO ON EBAY OR OTHER WEB SITES AND YOU WILL DEFIANTLY FIND CHEAPER GAMES ON THERE MY HUBBY SURE DID OR YOU CAN GO TO PAWN SHOPS SOME HAVE THEM BUT THE GAMES ARE BETTER! Both are good machines. Best thing to do is find out what his friends have got. If he has either he will definatley want to go online to play. If you get him a PS3 and it turns out all of his mates have xbox360, then he will not be able to go online and kill them.
Out of the two Xbox360 is more popular and is better value for money. As it was out before PS3 most people have it and are not changing consoles so 360 community is larger. If you cant find out what his friends/work colleagues have got then go for the Xbox360 and with the money saved buy a few extra games
GTA 4 is out on both Xbox360 and PS3 so no problems there
i have xbox 360 and recommend that. Its got some awesome games and graphics are very good. also the console can be modified to played cheap games so in long run will save u money. also its cheaper and i have no complaints… but my fav console is the wii… absolutley brilliant game play!!!

Yes xbox has better graphics - some shadows are where they should be, but that's not a big difference. Meanwhile PS3 gives you an additional blue ray player which very soon could be needed!
I prefer playstation but my son's played on both and I've just got him an xbox 360 from Game Station, not the arcade model, the one with the hard-drive, cost me £190 second-hand including a game, think the new one was £250 with a game. The elite costs more.
You should look at which one has a wider range of games and which one has the games that appeal to your husband. The graphics on the xbox 360 are awesome.
Go to Gamestation, they're usually cheaper and you can get insurance on it for an extra two years for £23. Argos pretty cheap too.
If he likes playing on line think you gotta get the elite xbox 360 or the one my son's got, you can't play online with the arcade model.
Yea you can get GTA for xbox, £40 Argos, £45 Game Station and Game.
Go and have a chat to one of the lads in Game Station, they'll be able to help you. They also take trade-ins so you can maybe trade in his old console and games.
XBOX 360 would be the better choice. The PS3 costs a massive amount and it is not worth it. I doubt that you would be able to buy a PS3 and GTA IV with £350. Get an XBOX 360 because the online is brilliant and there are plenty of great games coming out this year. The PS3 has bad online, JUST superior graphics and a limited selection of games. it's pretty big too Lol. GTA IV is better on the XBOX 360 because of XBOX LIVE and upcoming downloadable content in August. The PS3's games are all uninspired and are only good because of good graphics. XBOX LIVE doesn't cost that much and is well worth it. More so than the (free) Playstation Netwrk which has crap connectivity and no other extras except perhaps that you can download PS2 and PS1 games. The PS3 is a big gimmick, so buy the XBOX!!!!!
PS3, better games and it has much better graphics than Xbox 360. But they both have their advantages and disadvantages.
I'd really reccomend the PS3 if he likes online play. It's free on the PS3. The PS3 is more expensive at first but pays off later. It comes with things built in that come seperatly for the 360 and, like I said, the online is free. But if he has friends or something that have 360s then go with that. It's not really a matter of "which one is better" as they both have their ups and downs.
EDIT: Eggy499 has no idea what he/she is talking about. There is nothing wrong with the online for PS3 and the games are absolutly not "uninspired".
I have both and find myself playing the 360 more just because of the online features. The ps3 drops games ALOT and it gets really frustating so I play the 360 online, so far all i find doing on the ps3 is the blue ray player, but the graphics are better on the 360.
i would get xbox-360 because on-line on the the ps3 frees es on you
