i go to xbox 360. nice game. grafix. but it depend on a player. if ur a psx then u continue to ps2 and 3. mostly the game has a part.

PS3. It's pretty hard to control first-person shooter games (GTA IV is first-person shooter in a lot of times) in X360.

If you want action games then xbox 360 is for you because theres more of them on the 360 than ps3 based on its exclusive title like gears of war, mass effect, and crackdown

Xbox 360 is way better. cheaper, better games, wireless controllers with optional rechargeable batteries, good guitar hero, MICROPHONES and HEADSETS to talk to friends. Xbox Live, In my opinion for shooting games a better controller. rock Band 2 exclusively for Xbox 360. HDMI capability without lag. Thats all I have for u.

best to test them both out at a store before you buy. I would build up a collection of some great used titles for other systems while most are as low as a buck at gamestop. I own the basic Xbox and played the PS2 but traded it in about 2 years ago dreading it so starting to rebuild my collection back.

I like 360. Both systems have their great games, but it seems like 360 had more. Metal Gear 4 was really the only great PS3 game to not be on 360, whereas 360 had Mass Effect, Halo 3, Gears of War, Bioshock, and others. Bottom line, 360 has a MUCH better game library.

i like the 360 but i have gone through two of them in about 10 months. i first got the ring of death and had to ship it to texas for repair which wasn't to bad i got a new one, and just recently like yesterday i had a problem with the disc tray it won't close, so i am sending it back for a new one.but overall i like the 360 and with the recent price cut u should get one or wait cus i heard of a mini 360 which will be called a 540 in the works it will be more efficient with electricity and possibly more quiter than now.its like a plane taking off. the 540 will also have a better graphics processing unit. kind of like how sony did the origonal ps2 and then decreased the size of the second generation ps2. and look up guitar hero world tour. it looks awsome, with a badass gutair and better drums and they are WIRELESS. the gutair also has a touchpad area of frets for help with fast solos. look into it on g4.com

Ok, i think the decision between Ps3 And Xbox 360 isn't even a choice.

Ok Ps3 has a blue ray player, a nice user interface and can access the internet. The ps3 network is free,but it lacks the power of Xbox live. the blue ray game discs CAN be big but they only have 8 gigabyte discs which are the same as Xbox discs. only difference is blueray read at 6x speed while xbox discs read at like16x. both consoles have the same graphics. price wise, the ps3 went down in price ($50) but it lost it's backwards compatibility. All in all, i say anyone in the right mind should get a Xbox 360

XBOX 360 by farrrr…! omg i'm addicted 2 mine especially because of all the games they have lyk GTA4, Oblivion, Bioshock, Call Of Duty 4, Gears Of War, etc…. i actually have a rechargable battery pack 4 my controller so it's pretty convinient. & xbox live is so addicting. i mean ya there r good things about the ps3 but the xbox 360 is hardcore lol. & the controller is soo much better than any i've personally used & i'm into rpg games. i HIGHLY recommend the xbox 360 =]

Well PS3 should be your choice because the graphics are awesome and new awesome games will come out like Saint's Row 2 and Guitar Hero is better to be played in a PS3.The controllers of the PS3 could be charged with a USB chord.And also games like Metal Gear Solid are awesome and they're PS3 exclusive.

They both have good games and all but the PS3 is just starting to get of the ground really, with Metal Gear being the turning point in the so called "console war". Also if you plan to play online with GTA, Guitar Hero or any other game for that matter, online play is free on the PS3 but you have to pay to play on the 360. That was really what made me choose a PS3.

It has free online
Blu-ray

I prefer the games like guitar hero on it as well compared to the Xbox 360 although I don't really know why. Also with the controllers like they are the PS3 is better at the moment as it has built in battery and the Xbox 360's is just normal AA battery. And that can be a bother if you have none left in the house and are on low battery, hope that this helps.

1st of all i have a ps3….i like it better then the 360 myself, but it depends….if u have friends with next gen systems try nd get the same system they have…for online play….but x-box live u have to pay for psn its free…ps3 gets a free wirless connection to ur dsl…x-box u have to buy the router or either the wireless peice for $50 xbox u have to buy batteries 4 controllers ps3 auto charge though usb on ur system…..oh yeah and guitar hero and rock band music games are all big named titles so they will b comming out on both systems and the gameplay is preety much the same, but if u are huge on music games i would look for the nintendo wii…cheaper also big music titles are dropping for it lol

Myself i own a 360 and a wii. The 360's great and i love it dearly but after watching E3 as closely as i did I've noticed that ps3 is really on the rise. I think give it 12 months, less even, and the ps3 will be close to the 360's popularity. I have guitar hero 3 on my 360 and its definitely my most played game. It doesn't lag at all, but i've played it on my friends wii and it lagged quite a bit. For the ps3, i'm not sure. Oh, and one last thing. The 360 has xbox live which is much better than the playstation network. But playstation home is being released soon which looks great.

P.S I am now saving up to get a ps3 for myself.

I like the PS3 very much. I played GTA 4 on it and I loved it! And Guitar Hero 3 was very cool on the PS3. No trouble with the wireless connection. Even when I was running through the room, it still worked. And as far as I have heard, the quality is also better. Plus, you get a blu-ray player with it. So the graphics are beautiful, and believe me, it is pretty nice.

But to be honest, I never played on the Xbox 360 before, hahahaha =].

xbox 360 way better gears of war 2 is coming out if you have the guts to go take a blood bath get the 360 if you wanna lol at monsters that try to be scary and look like little bears with push pops then get the ps3

OK, now for a lecture, I own both consoles, and I would be pretty simial to u, action games, music games, so on.

I would say 360 for u, because the controller is more comfortable, and the gimmick of 6-axis does not work well with the PS3. 360 has better games for ur taste, and in general if ur taste changes.

HOWEVER, if u watch a lot of movies and stuff, then u may be better with a PS3 cuz its far quieter than 360. It also has Blu-Ray built in, and better for watchin movies on.

In the end, its up to u, pick the console that attracts u the most, and enjoy it, dont look back! Dont regret ur choice, be happy with it. And good luck!

360 is the way to go because all the action games come out on the 360. Also ps3 is so hard to figure out and theres a new 360 coming out with a 60 gig hard drive for the same price as the 20 gig.

well in my opinion, i pick the Playstation 3. I pick the PS3 because i have ALWAYS been a fan of Playstation…. it has a web browser, plays Blu-Ray movies, plays CD's, has great online. But thats all just MY opinion… when you get right down to it, if you want to pick the best you have to pick it based on an actual percentage of people who bought the systems…… and if you do it that way the system that wins is Xbox 360, but only because the Xbox 360 came out way earlier then the Playstation 3. The Playstation 3 is starting to redeem itself.

Well both would be good, but i prefer PS3. Most games on xbox are moving also to PS3 and the PS3 has some great exclusives like Resistance, Warhawk, Metal Gear Solid, and Uncharted. So you can pretty much push the game problem to the side because both consoles have great games. The Ps3 also has free online play with a built in wifi so you dont have to use and cords. Also the Ps3 is jam packed with a butt load of features and it can cure cancer as it plays your tunes.

XBox 360 all the way. PS3's are way over rated. You can recharge xbox 360 controllers, they automatically come wireless, and they have wireless headphones.

thats a hard question because xbox360 has great grafix, great games, but scratches games and freezes alot.PS3 has ok grafix, great games, but also scratches games.so i would have to say i would buy an xbox360 because of all the games.

but here is a tip
if you have a xbox already, then get a 360 because you can still play the xbox games on the 360.
if you have a ps1/2/psp then go with the ps3, you can play those games on the ps3.

This all depends on the gamer. Since you like GTA I'd suggest the PS3. And Rock Band 2 will be coming out on all systems, except probably PS2.

The best advice I can give is look into what games are coming out for both consoles and what kind of features the consoles will have. Then, just weigh your options.

I will admit that the PS3 has better graphics then the 360, but the 360 has a way better gaming selection such as GOW, GOW2(coming out this fall), Halo, Halo2, Halo3, and soon hop fully Halo4. They also have a better on line system that works better and has more people on it because it is way cheaper. So the main point is that the best overall system for the time being is Microsoft's Xbox 360.

ok ok now my friend saw a list..that showed the good things that the 360 and the ps3…according to that list ps3 beats the 360 at everything eccept 4 the grapix…iether way i think ps3 is better…i believe that becouse i hav experienced both consoles.

Both have some advantages and disadvantages. Keep in mind, Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles are mainly related to GAMES more than entertainment and other services such as movies, music, download, chat.

Both are pretty good systems, but I recommended you to get Xbox 360 because it has a great range of game selection, as well as it has a great online service support (except fees), performance, visual quality and controller.

GAMES/MOVIES:

PS3 has some excellent exclusively games such as Metal Gear Solid 4, of course. But Xbox 360 has a large number of great games (approximately 90 games are over 80% rating, compares to PS3 has approximately 45). The PS3 versions will be ports of the X360 versions. (The opposite was true for Xbox vs. PS2).
Xbox 360 is also far better development tools, better documentation, and easier architecture. That is a obviously reason game developers aren't able to develop a game for PS3 version, unless they have knowledge of PS3's development tools required.
If you are into excellent first person shooter games (such as Gears of War, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, BioShock), huge RPG games (such as Final Fantasy 13, The Last Remnant, Star Ocean, Infinite Undicovery, Lost Obsessy), awesome action-adventure (such as GTA IV, Splinter Cell Convertion, Alan Wake), best online games (eg. GTA IV, Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4), or load of music games (such as Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band, Lips), then Xbox 360 is a best option for you.

PS3 has Blu-Ray inbuilt - you can watch full high-definition movies and it is the cheapest blu-ray player in market. Blu-ray single layer disc can be store up to 25gb, compares to X360's DVD-DL is only 9gb. That means game developers are able to develop loads of missions, characters, cut-scenes, etc. However, our currently time, most games can be fitting on DVD-DL, plus Microsoft produced a special software that able to reduce file size in same game quality (for example; Grand Theft Auto 4).

ONLINE SERVICE:

Both are pretty good with online service. Xbox 360 is actually better due to it has a lot of great features (an example of one feature - when you download a large file size on PS3, you will be stucked, you can't do anything else while actively downloading, unlike Xbox 360 - you can play a game, watch a movie, listen to music or whatever you want during downloading in the background. Even you can turn your console off, it goes into a low power mode until the downloads are complete, then completely shuts down). X360 has one disadvantage - if you want to play online multiplayer, you then must pay fee, compares to PS3, which is free. But remember, one year Gold membership costs US$49.99 only. Simple and inexpensive. Plus, Xbox Live has a great support for users (e.g., PS3 is a free subscription - sometimes it can cause the internet in trouble. You pay subscription for Xbox Live Gold membership, they will help you solving the problem).

PERFORMANCE:

On paper, the PS3 is more powerful. In reality, it’s quite inferior to the Xbox 360. X360 has three PowerPC cores, compares to PS3 has only one Cell processor core with seven Synergistic Processing Units. The X360 has are FAR easier to take advantage of than the SPU’s on the PS3.

VISUAL QUALITY:

The Xbox 360's graphic card design is more flexible and it has more processing power than the PS3's graphic card, thanks to ATI's unified shader architecture and it contains 10MB of embedded DRAM. Half of games on Xbox 360 has larger size resolution than PS3 does (e.g., GTA 4's native resolution is 720p on Xbox 360, compares to PS3 is 640p). From a game review site, GameSpot, did a good job to analysis with graphics comparation. As they proved that Xbox 360 has quite superior visual quality than PS3 does.

CONTROLLER:

PS3's support in 7 players on a single console, compares to Xbox 360 is 4 players. However, most excellent games won't play up to 7 players, instead of 4 players or less, due to there is no way to fit on one TV screen. If you interest in sport games such as soccer, baseball, then these games are able to play up to 7 players. PS3's controller is called SIXAXIS, just like Wii controller's sensor motion, but it is too small and uncomfortable, due to it has no vibration. However, Dual Shock 3 will be coming soon. Xbox 360's controller is way far comfortable and amazing ergonomic as there is lots of space to wrap your fingers around.

OVERALL:

As I mentioned above, Xbox 360 is an obviously winner, it doesn't mean PS3 sucks. It is still a great system in some points such as blu-ray movies, exclusively games and free online service. If you interest in movies the most, or the reason you want to get an exclusively game (like Metal Gear Solid 4), PS3 is a good option for you. Alright not to get on your grill and have some pathetic XBOXer mad at me the truth is I have alot of gamer friends and we have all come to the conclusion that if you want a console thats lasts more than six months go playstation the way we play (24/7) the XBOX can't keep up. As for games how fun is run, jump, shoot? (Halo) With games like MGS4 your options are extended greatly!
